Joey belongs to a Homeschool Zoo Club. We meet a few times during the school year locally with our group to learn things about some animals. We also get a few classes at the zoo with the group as well as free passes for the year to go anytime we want Monday- Friday. Well, the last time we went, we tool Madeline with us since she was tracked out. We had a great day! The weather was perfect and we all enjoyed seeing the animals.
The girls had fun while we were waiting for Joey’s hour long class with the homeschool group. We stayed close by so as soon as he was done we could see as much as possible the rest of the day. The giant bee was enjoyed by both of them! We got to see a bee hive too. I showed Emma the Queen.
I love this shot of the kids! This was about the only time all day that they stayed still! They loved the zoo!
We took a break after our high $$ lunch to watch Dora in 4D! It was a cute show… the girls loved it!
As we were walking the trail, Joey spotted this little guy! A chipmunk sitting on a termite hill! He was so cute! I got two pics of him before he ran away into the bushes.
We all really enjoyed getting this close to these two beautiful creatures! The Grizzly was funny! He would sit on the rock and then he would go for a dip in the water and eat the leaves that had fallen into his habitat. That is as close to a bear I ever want to get! Then, we went to see the Gorillas. This one was sitting right by the window eating a pumpkin! They gave most of the animals pumpkins for their Halloween treats. I enjoyed getting some shots of them both! They are so amazing!
This was at the end of our day at the zoo. It was Madeline’s turn to push the double stroller. Joey and Madeline were a huge help! I would have never made it the whole day without them! We were headed to the playground! Emma was excited! Ava was fast asleep in the stroller! We may have to go to the playground first the next time. Ava doesn’t even know it exists!
